17th June 2021

Dear Parents and Carers of Year 5 girls,

An invitation to St. Claudine’s Catholic School for Girls for Tea and Tours - 21st June – 5th July

I warmly invite you and your daughter to come for tea and a tour of the new St. Claudine’s Catholic School for Girls.  Our school, currently known as the Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College, will be opening in September 2021 as St. Claudine’s.

We firmly believe that girls do far better in an all-girls’ school for their secondary education; it is a critically important phase of life when girls grow into young women and, to be in an all-girls’ environment that supports and cherishes them as individuals away from the many pressures that girls today face both socially and emotionally, enables each student to grow in confidence and to shine as the person they were created to be.

Our results are testament to our philosophy that girls do better in an all-girls’ school. Our progress at GCSE and A level sits among the highest-performing schools in the area at 0.67 at GCSE and 0.48 at A Level. Our girls go on to secure places at some of the top universities with direct routes to Medicine, pathways to Law and other top professions. We also run a unique scholarship programme to enable our girls to study at fully-funded places at Universities in the USA.

Academic progress and success are only part of who we are as a school. Above all, St. Claudine’s is a happy, warm and caring environment where the girls think of themselves as sisters. We are blessed to welcome girls from all over the world, making up a rich and vibrant international community.

St Claudine’s is a Catholic school welcoming girls of all faiths; it is not a requirement to be Catholic. Many of our students come from a wide range of different faiths, cultures and heritage but we share common values underpinned by love of education, love of the school and of the unique family spirit that we share.

When visitors come to the school, they are often overwhelmed by the special atmosphere that pervades the school. The beauty of the buildings, gardens and grounds, the warmth of family spirit and friendliness that fills the school; the peace and quiet around the school in lesson times as students are so focused on their studies away from all distractions, and the chatter and laughter from happy students at break and lunchtime.

I urge you to come and see and experience the school for yourself as you are approaching the time to make a very important decision about your daughter’s secondary education. We would like to invite Year 5 girls and their parents to come for a visit, to tour the school with our staff and students.
