Home Learning Project

Home Learning project

This term, our Home Learning Project is based around Scotland.

In Year 4 we would be looking at where Scotland is on a map (Easy peasy... it's the country above England, which holds it up from sliding off into France); the capital city (Endinburgh) and other cities (Glasgow, Dundee, Stirling, Aberdeen); the difference between urban (built-up towns & cities) and rural (coutryside) areas and some of the human geography of the country (man-made places, such as Edinburgh Caste, the Forth Bridge, Scara Brae...).

For your home learning, do some research on one element of Scotland...

This could be:

  • a famous place, or structure (see above),
  • a famous Scottish writer,
  • a famous inventor (Scotland had lots of them... try Googling famous Scottish inventors - you'll be amazed)
  • Scottish history - famous Kings & Queens of Scotland
  • the Scottish flag
  • Scottish food and sweets
  • Scottish tartan and families
  • Scottish music

...anything which takes your fancy.

As usual you can respond in any way you like... in writing, in art, building a model, singing a song... anything at all - just make it engaging and eye-catching.

You can submit your home learning projects as photos or attachments to the email

Submissions should be made by Monday 18th May

School reopens for children on Monday 7th September... staggered entry times and distancing measures are in place to ensure continued safety... please see the Parents page for further details...
