Brick (Lego) Club
We run a weekly Brick Club for children in KS2. Through Brick Club, participants have fun, make friends, and develop their communication skills, confidence, and social and emotional well-being. Our Brick Club is facilitated by a trained adult who completed a course via Play Included.
Rather than building independently at home, children join Brick Club to make kits with their peers, either in pairs, threes or small groups, depending on the project. Children start off building sets together, taking it in turns to build, read the instructions or find the correct pieces. Children can work in pairs or with an adult, progressing to building with more children. Children can design and create imaginative models in pairs or small groups when ready.

On Tuesday 9th July, our club had a special visitor from Play Included.
A massive thank you to Ms Baverstock and all the young people who I had the pleasure of meeting at Brick Club yesterday. It was fantastic to see the projects you have been working on, including your brilliant stop motion animation of the slushy van and catalogue presentation! 😊 – you have created some excellent Lego Builds and there were great moments of team working and helping one another. Thank you so much for letting me join you, and to the two young people in particularly who showed me the ropes of Brick Club and introduced me to your very helpful mascot! – Holly, Trainee Psychologist on behalf of Health Innovation East working and Play Included.
