Prayers at the end of Year 6
Alaia
Almighty Lord and Heavenly Father,
Thank you for guiding us and supporting us through this journey, especially when we have doubted ourselves.
Thank you for our brilliant class, welcoming school and amazing teachers.
Thank you for the memories we have made. I know it has been tough, but you kept believing in us and strengthened us to help us grow.
Father, you know the worries, troubles and obstacles we are facing and I ask you to give us the courage David had, the patience Job had and the wisdom Solomon had.
Please continue to guide us and show us the right path so that we can help others who struggle too.
Lord, I know you have been here beside us through every step of the way in times of joy and tears of sadness. You never left us, even when we felt like we were alone.
Lord, I pray that you bless us as we transition to secondary school. Help us to face our own Goliaths and empower us to do the right things – to care for even the smallest of creatures and each and every bit of nature you created from the very beginning.
We are the stewards of the world and we need to care for your creation.
Remind us that you created everything perfectly from the stars and the sunset to the flowers and the wind; that you created us in your image and made us perfectly and made no mistakes.
Thank you Lord for everything that you do.
Amen
Noor & Chyna
Thank you God for everything you do for me and others.
Help all of us to have faith in knowing that all you do is there to make us happy.
Thank you, God, for making Christ Church feel like one big family.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories we will take with us when we leave.
Please, Lord, help Year 5 who will be the new Year 6 to listen and learn well.
Please give them the strength to be themselves and to be brave to face new challenges. And please guide them not to get into trouble.
In your name, help us all to be happy, Lord,
Amen
Kodey & Safiur
Oh God of peace,
we thank you for keeping Earth safe.
We know the generations before us have made our world hurt, but please know that we will try to fix it with peace.
Oh God of blessings,
we ask for your blessing on our path to Year 7.
We recognise that we have done wrong things in the past, but we know that if we bless others right,
We will do well for life.
O God of forgiveness,
Thank you for your constant blessings and chances to change to the right path.
Thank you for your patience as you wait for us to do the right thing and to turn a new leaf.
Please stay beside us, Lord, and guide us to the right way for our lives.
Oh God of happiness,
Thank you, Lord, for your everlasting love.
Your happiness will stay with me forever.
Amen

Our Father,
We can’t thank you enough for leading our way to this primary school.
Christ Church has helped us through our lows and our highs,
Here, none of our voices are inaudible – we are not invisible – and we get to speak our truth.
The memories we’ve made will forever stick and the way we are all friends makes us a family.
Please keep us safe in secondary as we will be the babies of the school again,
And please watch over the Year 5s stepping in our shoes.
We thank you for all that you do, Lord almighty,
Amen.
And a beautiful poem
We walked through Year 6 with wondering eyes,
Not knowing how fast time truly flies.
Each desk, each wall, each corner we knew
Would soon hold the memories we all grew into.
We wrote with quiet thought and bright, bursting minds,
In stories and poems our voices we'd find.
On paper we painted both laughter and fears,
Each sentence a snapshot of our final school year.
When SATs appeared, sharp pencils in hand
We faced them as one strong, steady band.
It tested us, but didn't define what we'd learnt from each other,
What we left behind.
With silence around us we quietly proved that our minds
Had been shaped; mountains were moved.
We ran and leaped through the rain on freezing Sports Day,
Our hearts beat fast in a glorious way.
The shouts, the cheers, the claps, the pride,
Our joy couldn't hide, no matter how wide.
Then came residential - a trip far from home,
We tasted s'mores under the star-lit dome.
We conquered our fears of both darkness and height,
We also played pranks and told stories at night.
But, it wasn't just lessons, or tests we recall,
It's the way our peers would pick us up when we started to fall.
It's the way someone smiled when we needed it most,
It's the secrets we whispered, the frineds we grew close.
The classroom grew smaller as we each grew tall,
In ways that aren't measured by height on a wall.
Compassion, wisdom, perseverance and belief,
We found each other both joy and relief.
Now Year seven awaits with its halls wide and new,
With challenges ahead, but we'll make it through.
More friends to discover, new lessons to learn,
A fresh kind of magic, we're ready to turn.
Though we say goodbye to this chapter we've loved,
The story we've written will rise up above.
We'll face Year seven with courage and cheer,
Because everything we need, we've found it right here!
😊 Alaia - Year 6.
