Training for support staff so that they are engaging pupils in activities and games during playtimes and lunchtimes.

£1,500

All support staff will be trained to support their understanding, confidence in organising games, and activities for pupils during lunchtime and playtime so that they are spending the majority of their time engaged in exercise.

This should be a 1-year cost. Training can continue in-house following this.

Children are engaged in playing a variety of games, including ball games, circle games, skipping and running games. Playground incidences are low and are generally accidental.

Purchase of PE and playtime equipment and resources to support planning and delivery of high quality PE.

Equipment available to improve the quality of lessons. Correct equipment will improve levels of skill development. Enhance positive attitudes. Increased engagement in physical activities during playtime. Increased fitness levels of pupils. Positive playground experiences.

This should be a cost for this year. Costs should reduce afterwards as equipment will be new.

P.E. equipment is of a good standard and is well maintained. Children are keen to use apparatus and equipment in P.E.

Cost of Sports Day held at Willesden Sports Centre

Children have the sports day at a professional stadium, encouraging pride and achievement in sport.

This will be an annual cost.

Well-organised and supported event for children from Reception – Year 6. Children participated in a carousel of 7 different activities, including, running, jumping and throwing events.

Maintenance of PE and playground equipment and maintenance of playground surfaces (astro-turf and soft surfaces)

£150 annual inspection

£300 repairs to PE equipment

Well-kept and good standard of equipment encourages the children to play well and also to stay safe whilst using the equipment.

This will be an annual cost.

The site is kept safe – no injuries have occurred due to unsafe surfaces and equipment.

New bicycle racks for the playground

Encouraging children to cycle and scoot to school in order to stay healthy.

Teaching the children basic bicycle maintenance skills – checking tyre pressures, inflating tyres ,etc.

This should be a 1-off cost. Once installed, the racks and equipment can be maintained by the school.

When these are installed over the holidays, the outcome is intended to support children in cycling to school.

Swimming cost

Swimming has been taught from Y2 – 6 traditionally. By the end of Year 4, our expectation is that all children should reach the expected standard of 25m. Year 5 & 6 swimming lessons continue in order to support this.

This will be an annual cost.

By the end of Year 6 – 86% of the class were able to swim 25m unaided.

 

P.E. & Sports activities after school 3x per week

Cost of providing Teacher for 3x per week after school. This has included football, multi-skills and sports activities

This will be an annual cost

Many children, including PP, Vulnerable and others accessing sports of some form or another after school. This should help to raise fitness and skills levels.

School subsidy for outdoor learning at Sayers Croft and other trips & visits

Encouraging parents & children of vulnerable families to attend outdoor learning activities.
